Vision For Colorado
Fellow Patriot and Citizen, I want to begin by thanking you for taking the time to read this message and I look forward to a possible opportunity to speak with you and share my heart, and my vision, for the future of Colorado.

Colorado stands at a crossroads. Many feel that our cherished values of faith, freedom, and self-governance are eroding in the face of moral confusion and government overreach. In these challenging times, I offer a bold way forward. My campaign plan, “A Plan to Restore, Reform, and Protect Liberty,” is more than a policy agenda; it is a call to renew Colorado’s founding principles under God. This plan speaks to every citizen who believes in America’s original promise: that our rights come from our Creator and that just government must preserve those rights. My vision rests on three pillars: restoring our godly heritage and constitutional foundations, reforming government structures to guard against tyranny, and protecting the American way of life for future generations. In what follows, I will walk you through each of these pillars and show why they are essential for a free and virtuous Colorado. By the end, I hope you’ll see that supporting this campaign is not only a political choice, but a stand for the soul and future of our state. Together, we can restore Colorado, and America, to the firm foundations that made us strong.

Pillar I. Restore Our Godly Heritage and Constitutional Foundations.
Our first task is to restore Colorado’s godly heritage and constitutional foundations. America’s Founders understood that faith and virtue are the bedrock of liberty. As George Washington wisely observed in his Farewell Address, “Religion and morality are indispensable supports” of political prosperity. John Adams went so far as to say, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” These statements remind us that free government depends on a righteous, faith-filled people. I echo this truth. I believe that to sustain freedom, we must renew public faith and virtue and encourage leaders who humbly seek God’s guidance.

A. We will Restore Biblical Principles. Under my administration, Colorado will openly acknowledge the Judeo-Christian principles that guided our Founders. This does not mean establishing a state religion, far from it. It means recognizing the moral laws and values that have always informed our sense of right and wrong. For example, Colorado’s own Constitution begins: “We, the people of Colorado, with profound reverence for the Supreme Ruler of the Universe…” From the very birth of our state, we acknowledged God in our public charter. That heritage of reverence can once again shape public life. I will encourage faith-based leadership and decision-making rooted in timeless truths. Laws and policies should once again reflect moral clarity, affirming that certain things are right and others are wrong. By recentering governance on biblical ethics, like honesty, integrity, respect for life and property, we can heal the moral confusion that plagues our society.

B. We will Renew Public Faith. Throughout American history, leaders have turned to God in times of crisis, and so must we. I will reinstitute the venerable practice of calling for days of prayer, fasting, and thanksgiving, following the example of President Abraham Lincoln and even past Colorado governors. (In fact, Colorado’s governors have issued Day of Prayer proclamations since 1905!) Such actions are more than symbolic. They unite communities in humility and hope. Imagine Colorado’s citizens joining in prayer for wisdom, justice, and mercy. I believe faith is not meant to be hidden inside churches alone; it should inspire public service and civic unity. I will encourage partnerships with faith-based organizations to address social ills, recognizing that strong faith communities build strong states.

C. We will Restore Moral Leadership in Government. Restoring our godly heritage also means electing leaders who aren’t afraid to stand for what is right. I have pledged to lead by example, to be a governor who prays for guidance, seeks counsel from wise faith leaders, and acts with an accountable conscience. I will promote public virtue, the idea, well known to the Founders, that those in authority must exhibit character and self-restraint under God. Policy initiatives will be measured against moral criteria: Is it just? Does it honor family and freedom? Would it make our forefathers proud? By asking these questions, Colorado can return to the original intent of America’s founding documents, which married freedom with responsibility to God. In practical terms, this could mean instituting ethical training for public servants, commemorating our state’s Christian heritage in civic education, and encouraging schools to teach about the faith of the Founders (as history, not doctrine). After all, Washington, Jefferson, and others appealed to the “Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God” when charting the course of the new nation. We should do the same as we chart Colorado’s future.
In summary, the first pillar of my plan is about restoration, a return to the “old paths” of faith, virtue, and constitutional fidelity that blessed our state in earlier days. By restoring a God-honoring foundation, we prepare Colorado for blessings and stability that no government program alone can provide. As Scripture says, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” We must rebuild our foundations. It starts with electing a Governor who unabashedly declares that our rights are God-given and our laws should reflect God’s moral order. As for me, I will seek to lead with truth, walk humbly with God, and call our state back to the foundations of righteousness and liberty.

Pillar II. Reform Government Structures to Guard Against Tyranny
Let’s speak plainly: Colorado no longer functions as a constitutional republic. It has drifted into a centralized democracy, where 50% plus one now governs the whole. The Founders warned us that such systems inevitably descend into mob rule, eroding liberty and crushing local governance under the weight of one-size-fits-all laws. John Adams said it best: “There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.”

My campaign is built on the firm conviction that we must restore Colorado to its intended design: a republic, where law, liberty, and local authority restrain power and secure justice. I believe that county governments, like yours, are essential to that restoration. You are not just administrative units of the state; you are constitutional guardians of your people.

My campaign is built around three guiding pillars: Restore, Reform, and Protect. While each of these principles includes specific policy proposals, the reforms outlined here represent one of the most urgent sub-plans under the “Reform” pillar, namely, reforming the very structures of government to guard against tyranny and restore the voice of the counties. You are central to this effort.
A. We will advance a Colorado State Electoral College, Restoring Balance to Statewide Elections. Under our current system, statewide elections are decided almost entirely by a handful of urban counties. The other 59 counties are largely ignored. This is not balanced governance, it’s urban centralism. My plan proposes the creation of a Colorado State Electoral College, modeled after the federal system, where each county is assigned a number of electoral votes based on its population (with every county receiving at least one). To be elected governor, a candidate would need to win a majority of these electoral votes, not just run up margins in metro areas.

This change would force every statewide candidate to engage with rural, mountain, agricultural, and small-town communities, not just campaign along the Front Range. It would make our state government truly representative, geographically balanced, and structurally fair.

B. We will advance a Local Ratification of Laws and Amendments, Guarding Against Top-Down Tyranny. Today, the state government in Denver can impose sweeping laws affecting your county’s economy, schools, land use, and values without ever asking for your consent. That is not how a republic functions. To restore proper checks and balances, I propose a local ratification mechanism that returns real governing power to Colorado’s counties.

Under this reform, all major state laws, mandates, or executive orders with statewide impact, such as tax increases, education policy, or regulatory expansions, would require approval by a simple majority of counties before taking effect. This ensures that no single region or party can dictate policy over unwilling communities.

Furthermore, when it comes to changes to the Colorado Constitution, I propose a supermajority ratification requirement by the counties, similar to the federal amendment process, which requires approval from three-fourths of the states. This would protect Colorado from the political winds of the moment and force broad, geographic consensus before any permanent constitutional changes could be made.

In both cases, this reform makes clear: Colorado belongs to its people, not just its politicians. County governments, elected by their local citizens, deserve a seat at the table before state-level decisions are made that reshape our way of life.

C. We will advance a County-Selected State Senate, Restoring County Representation in State Government. Currently, both chambers of Colorado’s General Assembly are based solely on population. This gives urban centers near-total control over the legislative process and silences the unique concerns of rural and less-populated counties. That is not how representative government was meant to function.

I propose a bold yet historically grounded reform: restructure the Colorado State Senate to consist of one senator per county, chosen directly by each Board of County Commissioners. This mirrors how U.S. Senators were once selected by state legislatures prior to the 17th Amendment and restores the State Senate to its proper role as a protector of local interests against centralized power. It guarantees that every county has equal voice in shaping statewide laws, not just those with the most voters.

As Governor I will work with Counties, Not Over Them. Let me be clear: I do not believe the Governor should rule by executive order or behind closed doors in Denver. I believe the Governor should lead through consultation, partnership, and constitutional principle. Should I be elected, I will formally seek input from Colorado’s Boards of County Commissioners before signing major House Bills, Senate Bills, or Executive Orders. I will also champion the legislative and ballot-initiative processes required to advance these structural reforms. I will stand with counties, not against them.

These changes won’t be easy. Entrenched interests rarely surrender power willingly. But with public pressure and principled leadership, they can be accomplished. And they must be, because in order to preserve Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness Colorado must become a republic.

Pillar III. Protect the American Way of Life
The final, and perhaps most urgent, pillar of my plan is to protect the American way of life in Colorado. What is that way of life? It’s faith, family, freedom, and the right to pursue happiness without government intrusion. It means individuals living out their values, raising their children without fear, and working toward prosperity. Sadly, these ideals are under attack, from radicals who reject absolute truth, to socialist policies that crush initiative. I will not let Colorado’s way of life be destroyed. I will defend our rights, our families, and our faith with unapologetic courage.

A. I will Defend Life and Family. I am unequivocally pro-life. I believe every child, born and unborn, is created in God’s image and deserves protection. I will fight to end abortion in Colorado, promote adoption, and ensure that no taxpayer dollars ever fund the destruction of innocent life. I will also fiercely protect children from moral exploitation, whether it’s pornography in schools, chemical castration under the guise of “gender care,” or anti-family indoctrination. I will champion a Parents’ Bill of Rights so that you, not bureaucrats, control your children’s education, health, and upbringing. Strong families build a strong nation, and I will empower you to raise your children in truth and peace.

B. I will Guard Religious Freedom and Moral Convictions. I will be a relentless defender of religious liberty. No one should be punished for honoring God in word or deed. Whether you’re a baker, teacher, pastor, or business owner, you will not be forced to violate your conscience under my leadership. I will veto any law that infringes on your faith and proactively advance protections for religious belief and expression. In Colorado, you will never have to leave your values at the door. I will restore respect for the First Amendment and make sure our government no longer persecutes people of faith.

C. I will ensure the Right to Bear Arms and Community Safety. I proudly support the Second Amendment and Colorado’s own constitutional guarantee of the right to bear arms. I oppose gun registries, bans, or excessive regulations that disarm law-abiding citizens. I support your right to form lawful militias, protect your home, and safeguard your liberty. I also back our law enforcement officers and want to ensure they’re empowered to uphold law and order. With me as Governor, criminals will face justice, and citizens will be free to defend life, liberty, and property.

D. I will ensure the Preservation Property Rights and Free Enterprise. I reject socialism in all its forms. I believe in free enterprise, private property, and the ability to work, own, and build without government interference. I will fight extreme environmental regulations that crush our farmers and ranchers, audit wasteful agencies, cut taxes, and reduce bureaucracy. I want Colorado to be a place where you can start a business, grow a family, and keep what you earn. I will protect the American Dream and oppose every policy that threatens to make us more like Venezuela or California.

E. Implement Just and Moral Governance. Finally, I will govern with integrity and fear of God. I will begin each day in prayer, seek wisdom from Scripture, and appoint judges who understand natural law and the Constitution. I will fight corruption, uphold transparency, and demand moral conduct from every public servant. Government must punish evil and reward good. I will crack down on human trafficking, drug cartels, and all crimes that destroy lives. At the same time, I will oppose laws that promote addiction, dependency, and immorality. A free society must be a moral society, and I will lead accordingly.

I am Unaffiliated but united under the Washingtonian Model for Leadership
In a time of bitter division and political idolatry, we must return to a model of leadership grounded in principle, not partisanship. One of the most overlooked truths about the Father of our Country, George Washington, is this: he was politically unaffiliated. Washington rejected party labels and factionalism because he knew they would eventually threaten the very liberty he helped secure. In his Farewell Address, he warned that “the alternate domination of one faction over another… is itself a frightful despotism.”

Washington’s example speaks directly to our moment in history. Colorado, and America, is reeling from the consequences of entrenched partisanship. Loyalty to party has overtaken loyalty to truth. Political ambition has replaced moral conviction. As a result, our institutions are crumbling, and the people are weary. But I believe there is a better way, the Washingtonian way.

Like Washington, I have chosen to run for office as an unaffiliated candidate. I do not serve a political party. I serve the Constitution, the people of Colorado, and Almighty God. My campaign is built on the conviction that public office is not a prize to be won, but a trust to be stewarded in humility and righteousness.

Scripture confirms what our Founders understood: a house divided cannot stand (Matthew 12:25), and leadership must be rooted in godly wisdom, not selfish ambition. The Apostle Paul exhorted us: “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself” (Philippians 2:3). James tells us that wisdom from above is “pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy… without partiality and without hypocrisy” (James 3:17).

That is the model I aspire to follow, not political opportunism, but servant leadership. I believe, as Proverbs 29:2 says, that “when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice.” That kind of righteous leadership does not mean religious domination, it means governance with integrity, justice, humility, and moral clarity.

Washington once declared, “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible.” He did not merely say those words, he lived them. In private prayer, public speech, and presidential judgment, he sought the wisdom of Heaven more than the approval of men. That’s the spirit of leadership we must recover today.

As I travel across Colorado, I meet people disillusioned by the false choice between two broken parties. Voters are tired of the lesser of two evils. Tired of watching parties grow rich while the people grow weary. Tired of division where there should be unity.

This campaign is not about Left or Right. It’s about right and wrong. It’s about restoring virtue, reforming government, and protecting liberty. It’s about returning power to the people, and glory to God. As the prophet Micah wrote, “He has shown you, O man, what is good: to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God”.

We do not need more politicians. We need watchmen. We need servants. We need shepherds, citizen leaders who govern with moral clarity and patriotic courage. Washington chose that path. And by God’s grace, so will I.

Let it be said of our generation that when the parties were at war, we chose the path of principle. That when liberty faltered, we remembered our foundations. That when our Republic stood at a crossroads, we chose conviction over convenience, truth over tribalism, and providence over partisanship.

I may be unaffiliated, but I am not alone. I stand with the people of Colorado. I stand with the Constitution. And like Washington, I stand for a future not rooted in politics, but in providence. Let us return to the wisdom of our Founders. Let us walk in the righteousness of God. Let us unite, not around a party, but around the eternal principles that made us free. “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” (2 Corinthians 3:17)

Conclusion: An Urgent Call to Action. The stakes could not be higher. Our heritage, our republic, and our very way of life hang in the balance. I am offering Colorado a path to renewal, a plan grounded in faith: faith in God, and faith in you.

But I cannot do it alone. This moment belongs to us, the people. So I ask you:

Vote for me, Chaz Evanson, for Governor. If you believe in these values, if you long to see Colorado guided by biblical truth, constitutional intent, and common sense, then stand with me at the ballot box. Every vote matters.

I need you to join the grass-roots movement. A governor can lead, but real reform takes all of us. Attend local town halls. Volunteer. Host a gathering. Start a prayer group. Speak truth in your community. Together, we will shake the foundations of this corrupted system and raise up something better.

I ask you to hold me and all leaders accountable. I welcome it. I want your help, your voice, your prayers. Support candidates who share these principles and pressure those who don’t. We’re building a people-powered movement, one that no bureaucracy can silence.

I ask you to Pray in earnest. Pray for Colorado. Pray for revival. Pray for courage. Pray for truth. As our forefathers did, let us seek the Lord and ask Him to bless our land once again. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” That blessing starts right here.
In closing, we have a sacred opportunity. We can rise. We can rebuild. We can restore Colorado to its rightful place: a land where God is honored, liberty is cherished, families are strong, and government serves, not rules, the people.

The winds of change are blowing. I am ready. Will you join me? Let’s answer the call.

Vote Evanson, Restore, Reform, and Protect Liberty.

May God bless you and your loved ones, may He guide our steps as a people, and may He pour out His favor once again on the state of Colorado and the nation we all cherish, these United States of America.
